GPTW Diversity 2023 – Electronic Market receives GPTW 2023 Diversity Award in the Women category

GPTW - Woman

Mercado Eletrônico has just won the GPTW Diversity 2023 award in the Women category, making it one of the 17 best companies for women to work for in Brazil last year. The awards ceremony took place on April 10th, at Casa Bisutti, in São Paulo, and was attended by some ME employees.

This recognition is more than a significant milestone in Mercado Eletrônico's journey to promote the presence of diversity in technology and the B2B market: it also reflects our ongoing commitment to creating a work environment that values and recognizes women's contributions to the innovation and success story we are building.

The GPTW Diversity award is granted to organizations that demonstrate excellence in creating a diverse work environment and different segments are covered, such as: Women, LGBTQIAPN+, Ethnic Racial, People with Disabilities, 50+, Early Childhood Care and Young Power.

“At Mercado Eletrônico, we understand that the presence of diverse professionals is essential not only for the success of our company, but also for strengthening the technology ecosystem as a whole. One of our initiatives is the DiverseDev project, which recently selected different profiles from all over the country, reaffirming how committed we are to developing various pillars in the area”, says Adriana Oliveira, ME’s People and Management Director.

One way to strengthen this culture at Mercado Eletrônico is DiverseME, a diversity committee that has five main pillars: female empowerment, LGBTQIA+, ethnicities, races, and PcDs. Voluntarily, committee members can propose actions that strengthen diversity and promote a culture of respect, both in the workplace and outside it.

As a partner of the above initiative, there is also “Take Care of Yourself”, where professionals from the health and well-being areas are brought in for monthly chats with employees. The project started in 2021 and has already covered a variety of topics, such as anxiety, stress, personal finances, mindfulness, among other subjects. This initiative is a driver of an increasingly safe work environment.

“We understand the importance of well-being for job satisfaction and we cultivate a culture that values diversity. At ME, we promote an environment where all voices are heard and respected. That’s why we also have Gente e Gestão Escuta, an ombudsman channel so that all employees can report any situation,” concludes Adriana Oliveira.
