This Wednesday, June 24th, at 19pm, the awards ceremony took place GPTW Woman 2020 and for the first time, we won as one of the best companies for women to work for.
The event was online and open to the public, with lectures and debates on the theme “Our voices”, to show that having a voice is not enough, it needs to be heard and, more than that, welcomed.
Around 640 companies participated, but only 70 made it into the ranking of the Best Companies for Women to Work For. Mercado Eletrônico came in 13th place among the 35 winners in the Medium-Sized Companies category.
Female protagonism in companies
Nowadays, it is impossible to talk about people management without addressing the topic of diversity. GPTW Mulher is an initiative by GPTW Brasil to promote discussions about the position of women in society, breaking stereotypes and encouraging female leadership in companies.
Have you noticed that every large company has at least one female figure in a strategic position within the organization? As society matures, women have gained an important and fundamental role in the job market. However, we still have a long way to go before this becomes a truly fair and ideal scenario.
The theme “Our Voices” represents exactly this: it is not enough to have women in strategic positions in the company; we need to listen to them and welcome them. A changing world depends on gender equality inside and outside organizations.

We have been ranked among the best companies to work for in Brazil since 2018. Last year, we achieved the four most important HR awards current affairs: GPTW Brazil, GPTW IT, the Você S/A Award and GPTW São Paulo.

The company has women in strategic positions in the areas of HR, finance, marketing, customer service, products, projects, among others. It would not be demagogy to say that ME became what it is due to the work of women and the diversity employed in the company's day-to-day activities.
