For the second consecutive year, Mercado Eletrônico is among the best companies for women to work for, in the ranking promoted by Great Place to Work (GPTW), a global consultancy that evaluates and certifies work environments in more than 60 countries.

The GPTW Mulher award recognizes companies that stand out for their HR practices focused on gender equality, and Mercado Eletrônico, which was one of the winners in 2020, receives the award again in 2021.

 

Organizational culture focused on promoting gender equity

The pandemic has been a challenging time for everyone, but especially for women, who have had to double their working hours. After all, in addition to their work and household chores, they have also faced the challenge of helping their children with online classes, for example.

The adoption of home office for 100% of the team, even before the adoption by large companies, was Mercado Eletrônico's first action to help protect its employees. And to welcome women, mothers and employees at such a different time, in addition to carrying out actions aimed at female empowerment, the company listened to each of them.

Special actions aimed at the female audience

Individual contact with each employee to learn about their particularities was not the only action taken by Mercado Eletrônico. The company shared a form to identify points in which the company could assist teams working from home.

Furthermore, in the Women's Month, celebrated in March, the company also promoted several internal and external actions, with the themes of female empowerment, protagonism and the female role in the B2B purchasing and technology market, which, globally, is still predominantly male.

In parallel, HR dedicated itself to the work of preparing leadership to be even more empathetic with their teams during this period, seeking to understand the context of each employee.
