With the wave of digital transformation and the arrival of 4.0 technologies in the Brazilian market, many companies are threatened and doomed to failure. But the solution is very simple: INNOVATE!
According to a survey carried out by National Confederation of Industry (CNI), 31% of Brazilian companies accept this new culture for fear of not keeping up with the market in the future. One in three CEOs already recognize the risk of not being able to meet production demand without the help of innovation. In other words, there is no turning back.
The main factors that favor innovation in companies
Research shows that the main reasons that lead to innovation within companies are business sustainability, market conquest and competitiveness.
From these points, a movement emerges in companies seeking initiatives that add value to their products and services and bring health to the business. However, the financial crisis that still persists in some companies prevents CEOs from working with a focus on major innovations.
Unfortunately, the situation that some companies find themselves in has led them to prioritize basic expenses, such as maintaining their staff, leaving aside the culture of innovation.
This is a strategy, but it is not recommended, as over time it can take the company out of the market, making the situation even worse.
Brazil still has a lot to invest
The study also shows that 48% consider the investments taking place in the Brazilian scenario to be low. Only 6% of those interviewed consider the level of innovation in the industry to be high.
This data proves that, even with the industry 4.0 established in the country, companies are still in the process of stabilizing and changing their mindset to be able to better take advantage of the opportunities that innovation can bring to business.
The expectation is that in the next five years this scenario will evolve and show more results.
The hot topic: process optimization with cost reduction
Today, innovation in Brazil is not very disruptive; it is more incremental. In other words, executives are gradually adopting this culture, but with the aim of optimizing some processes that were previously mechanical, aiming to gain agility and reduce costs.
To be considered disruptive, innovation needs to completely transform processes, which is still rarely seen in the Brazilian market.
Large companies, interested in following this phase of innovation, have been following startups and are choosing to establish partnerships to create innovative environments.
MEI Tools: supporting innovation
Over the last 15 years, several initiatives to finance industrial innovation have been created. However, the incentive approach ended up being hampered by the country's economic situation.
To facilitate companies' access to these types of financing, MEI (Business Mobilization for Innovation) created the MEI Tools, bringing together a survey of more than 80 innovation financing systems.
The next step is to strengthen these systems so that, even in the midst of the crisis, companies understand the importance of investing in Brazil's future.
And you, how are you dealing with innovation in your company? Is it still at an embryonic level, with some initiatives or is it already a reality?
