ME 25 years: the company's oldest employees – Jane Crocce

We have reached the last post in the series celebrating Mercado Eletrônico’s 25th anniversary.

Over the course of 8 posts, you were able to follow the professional stories of ME's longest-serving employees.

After all, better than talking about ourselves is letting others give their opinions on the trajectory that has been built with a lot of partnership, innovation and commitment.

And to close the post, of course, we interviewed one of the people with the most stories to tell within the company.

Check it out!

18 years of history and partnership

The last interview is with Jane Crocce, who has been working at Mercado Eletrônico for just 18 years.

She currently works as a Farmer in the commercial area and is responsible for managing customer relationships, representing them internally to other areas of the company.

In this mission, your main role is to strengthen partnerships and make them increasingly healthy and lasting.

ME: Have you ever changed areas? What has your trajectory been within the company so far?

Jane: Yes! I started at the company as an intern in 2001, in the follow-up area. If I'm not mistaken, in 2003, I moved to the SMB area (sales to suppliers) and, in 2004, I became a supervisor in this area. In 2009, I moved to the sales area to serve purchasing companies, where I am to this day.

ME: What has changed in the company since you joined until today?

Jane: Wow, a lot has changed. When I joined, the company was small (approximately 60 employees), today we have over 200. The evolution over the years is remarkable, in every sense. We have won over large companies, gained strength in the market and the environment, which has changed from water to wine, after the office change. We have definitely raised the bar!

ME: Why do you think you have been at the same company for so long, at a time when professional unrest is so great?

Jane: First, you have to like/love what you do. I love my job! Then, the environment, and of course, my development within the company. Today, I feel recognized and I realize my value to the company. I'm happy here!

ME: What were the most challenging moments you experienced at ME?

Jane: All the changes in the area were a challenge. Change generates fear and discomfort, but I did not lose heart. Among them, the most challenging and most recent was in 2019, when we changed the structure of the sales area. I took on the challenge of coordinating the Key Account team in serving High Touch customers, with a focus on their retention and satisfaction.

ME: What was the most memorable moment you experienced at the company?

Jane: One of the most memorable moments was when I got sick (in 2003). I was hospitalized for 30 days and my family received enormous support from the Mercado Eletrônico team, including Eduardo Nader. I always hear my mother say that she is grateful for everyone's support.

ME: Leave a message for people who are just starting out at the company:

Jane: Take advantage of the company's growth, know how to deal with restructuring and be resilient. We will always encounter challenges ahead and we need to be prepared to face them. Enjoying what you do, feeling good at work and being happy is already a great start.

We have reached the end of the last interview with the oldest employees of Mercado Eletrônico. We would like to thank Jane and everyone who agreed to participate in this interview (Ramon, Cintia, Bruno, Marco, Fabrizio, Marilia e Klyvian), and share a little of their successful careers with the readers of the ME Blog.

Now, it's time to move on to the next 25 years!
