On February 05th, Mercado Eletrônico presented its first Quarterly Meeting of 2021.
The event, which remains online due to social distancing, brought together around 250 company employees from the units in Brazil, the United States, Mexico and Portugal. The first meeting of the year is always marked by presenting the balance sheet and disseminating the company's strategy for the next period.

Mercado Eletrônico CEO comments on the excellent results in 2020
Eduardo Nader, CEO of Mercado Eletrônico, began the meeting by congratulating everyone on the excellent performance achieved over the past year. According to him, the ME achieved the best results in its history and this is due to the work, competence and commitment of all employees.
During the meeting, Eduardo spoke about Mercado Eletrônico's values and emphasized the new value – Fantastic Experience – and the focus on the main thing, which is “People First”. He also presented the Balanced Scorecard with the objectives for 2021 and highlighted the evolution of the product to help professional buyers.
Marketing news in 2021
The Marketing area started 2021 with new developments. Klyvian Flores, then area manager, was promoted to director and is now part of the company's executive team.
In addition to taking care of Marketing, Klyvian will also take on the leadership of SDR (Sales Development Representative), which is an extremely important area for the company's sales.
The director presented the changes in the team, with the promotion of some employees, and the strategy for this year: in addition to generating leads, the focus will also be on product marketing, the evolution of communication with the platform's users and the company's internationalization.
Electronic Market hires 157 new employees
Adriana Oliveira, the company's HR director, summarized the positive results of 2020.
The company has achieved 90% internal satisfaction with its employees, in a year of remote management, and won the main HR awards in Brazil (GPTW Brazil, GPTW Woman, GPTW IT e Amazing Places to Work).
Furthermore, at a time when so many businesses had their operations affected, ME fortunately hired 157 new employees, including 26 interns, all passionate about technology and motivated to build a more efficient B2B market for buyers and suppliers.
Regarding events and celebrations, which are one of Mercado Eletrônico's trademarks, the celebrations had to adapt to the online format, but they did not go unnoticed. Happy hour, baby shower, June festival and end-of-year party were some of the events presented to all employees, in addition to biweekly live broadcasts (held since the beginning of the pandemic) with the CEO, Eduardo Nader.
Presentation of international teams
Teams from Mexico, the USA and Portugal also presented their results at the Quarterly Meeting.
All countries talked about the expansion of new customers and revenue growth. In addition, several HR initiatives carried out in Brazil are being implemented in other countries, and this has brought a lot of integration and employee satisfaction.
Nestlé is the guest of the Quarterly Meeting Q4-2020
As usual, an ME client was invited to participate in the Quarterly Meeting.
This time, the company was Nestlé, which is the largest food and beverage company in the world, has existed since 1867, employs more than 276 thousand people and is present in 86 countries on 5 continents.
Dinamérico Rangel, senior procurement manager, spoke a little about the company's history, its business units, objectives and transformation of the purchasing area.
after the turnaround, the area became much more strategic and valued. Today, the Procurement Brazil sector has 58 professionals and serves all business units (including corporate areas).
According to the professional, after implementing the ME platform, it was possible to have a holistic view of all processes (volume, SLA, where the request is coming from, which categories, tail spend, etc.). For him, the sector has changed levels and everyone considers the partnership a great success story.
Presentation of agile teams
The 11 agile teams from Mercado Eletrônico also presented themselves at the quarterly meeting.
The leaders of each team showed the latest projects implemented and the improvements that are being carried out in the ME solutions, in order to promote the evolution of the platform's user experience.
Top ME
In keeping with the tradition of recognizing the quarter's highlights, the event ended with the Q4-2020 TOP ME Award. Employees recognized by their managers received a gift voucher to spend in several stores in Brazil.
