Electronic Market holds its first 100% online Quarterly Meeting

This Friday (24/04) was reserved for the first 100% online Quarterly Meeting in the history of the Electronic Market. It was a great challenge, it is true, but it was certainly a milestone in the ME's trajectory.

The event has been held since 2000 and aims to present the quarterly results to all employees. This time, exceptionally, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the need for remote work, the meeting took place via an online application. The company's more than 200 employees were able to follow the results and see what we have planned for the next period. During the meeting, we had several moments of interaction and even managed to catch up a little.

Eduardo Nader, CEO of Mercado Eletrônico, opened the event by talking about the importance of everyone continuing to take care of themselves during the pandemic, highlighting our greatest value: “People come first”.

93% of employees are satisfied working at ME

HR Director Adriana Oliveira presented the traditional climate survey conducted with ME employees. The results showed very positive satisfaction rates for the company.

By combining the three most important questions in the survey: (1) Are you satisfied? (2) Would you recommend the company to friends and family? and (3) Are you proud to work at ME? it was possible to achieve a 93% satisfaction rate.

A very high number, even more so in times where everyone is working remotely and physically distant from their leaders.

 

The importance of OKRs to guide employees in remote work

Adriana took advantage of the meeting to talk about the importance of OKRs (objectives and key results).

The methodology, applied by Mercado Eletrônico for over 5 years, aims to define the main objectives of the company and each of its employees throughout the quarter. The idea is to unfold the company's strategy and give people a voice.

 

Agile methodologies in the mindset of teams

Alexandre Ferraz, agile methodologies coach at Mercado Eletrônico, spoke a little about the importance of implementing the agile mindset within teams.

For this type of mentality to work, it is necessary to form teams with different profiles. Obviously, the technical side is very important within the context, but it can be trained and exercised until it reaches maturity. However, for a team to be truly agile, it is necessary to have employees with mature emotional and social skills. A multifunctional team helps to foster different points of view and expertise, which complement each other and aim to deliver the best possible results.

The sense of teamwork, resilience, collaboration and how adaptable the professional can be in different situations are attributes that, combined with technical qualities, bring performance and improve the agile mindset of teams, preparing them to react to the market and adapt to the most varied scenarios.

 

Relationship with customers and ME Lives

We are far from our office, but we remain close to our customers and partners with the help of the internet and technology.

With the help of digitalization, meetings held by all teams, whether with internal teams or with customers, are more productive, which is essential for Mercado Eletrônico's business to continue performing well.
