The award ceremony took place this Thursday (29) in Alphaville, SP, and named companies with an indicator of excellence standard, according to a survey conducted with their own employees. In the second edition of the award in Barueri and the region, Mercado Eletrônico stood out for offering several benefits to its approximately 230 employees, with practices that are in line with the company's mission, vision and values and go beyond well-being within the work environment.
“Our People First value permeates all of our actions. We want each of our employees to feel happy and motivated in the workplace,” says Adriana Oliveira, Human Resources Manager at Mercado Eletrônico. “The office is where we spend most of our time – that’s why we always seek to improve and develop new mechanisms to attract the different generations that work with us. The People First motto, which has guided the company for almost two years, is not just a rhetorical statement; it is also recognized by our employees and was highlighted in the results of the GPTW survey as a constant concern for well-being on the part of Mercado Eletrônico,” she explains.
Among the practices adopted, the implementation of new benefits and the internal development of an application called “Gente & Gestão” (People & Management) stand out, which allows employees’ performance to be assessed, facilitating communication and bringing everyone closer together. “The app was developed by HR together with the team of analysts. It is important to listen to employees and make them feel good, thus promoting their professional growth. We embrace flexibility, such as the option to wear shorts to the office all year round, we offer maternity kits for future mothers and fathers, we have a daily “Fruit Time” program and, also, a gift for employees who have weddings scheduled. Receiving the GPTW award is gratifying and shows that we are on the right track. Motivated people who are satisfied with their work make a difference and the results come naturally”, adds the manager.
Internal recognitions
In addition to the internal management application, the company also implemented “BlueCard”. This is an application to recognize the work of employees and can be done in two ways: providing feedback for outstanding achievements and also choosing an employee to receive 50 points for something that made a difference during the quarter. Any employee can access the platform and offer a BlueCard to a coworker. The employee accesses the tool, chooses who they want to recognize and explains the reasons – which are published for the entire company to access. BlueCard has made the entire company more integrated and motivated, as it now allows everyone to recognize good work, not just managers and directors.
