Mercado Eletrônico launches supplier verification seal on its Marketplace

B2B business systems require constant innovation to meet increasingly demanding users, as well as governance and compliance rules. According to data from Business-to-Business Online (B2BOL) released this year, e-commerce between companies in Brazil is expected to generate revenues of R$2,39 trillion in December 2019. This represents an increase of 17,1% compared to last year, which closed the period with revenues of R$2,04 trillion.

Supplier Seal: the new Marketplace feature

To keep up with this scenario, Mercado Eletrônico, a leader in B2B e-commerce in Latin America, has announced a new feature in its Marketplace: the supplier verification seal. This new feature is important for both sides of the chain, buyers and suppliers, as it offers different benefits to both audiences.

“Buyers will be able to check the status of active companies on the Marketplace and choose new sources of supply for their purchasing processes more safely,” highlights Fabrizio Tassitano, product director at Mercado Eletrônico.

This will provide credibility to the thousands of sellers on the platform and greater security for buyers when selecting companies. This way, sellers have more chances to participate in new quotation processes and increase their sales, while buyers can access new sources of supply and thus generate more savings on their purchases.

The verification will be carried out monthly through RPA (Robotic Process Automation) and will allow differentiating supplier companies in the Marketplace according to five bases: Federal Revenue, (2) Transparency Portal, (3) Caixa Econômica Federal, (4) negative certificate of debts related to federal taxes and (5) Superior Labor Court.

All suppliers that are part of the Marketplace will be able to participate in this process. The seal will be available next to the name of each company and buyers will be able to view it at various times, such as when selecting new suppliers for their quotes, when approving companies that apply to respond to a quote, among others. “We want our community of companies to achieve significant results by using the Marketplace. In other words, suppliers will sell more and buyers will have more savings and new business partners,” concludes Fabrizio.
