Mercado Eletrônico will carry out a series of actions in support of International Women's Day, March 8th.
To show employees, especially female employees, that all dreams are possible, ME invited journalist and São Paulo native Dina Barile, the first Brazilian woman to travel to the stratosphere – also known as the ozone layer, the second closest to Earth.
To reach the edge of space, Dina boarded a MIG-19 aircraft in Russia in 2015. Her courageous and adventurous journey also includes floating in zero gravity at an astronaut training base and passing through 140 countries, that is, almost the entire world.
The live online chat will allow for a rich interaction between employees and the guest on a subject that is increasingly being debated in companies: women's empowerment, an issue that has been increasingly present in Mercado Eletrônico, which even won the award GPTW Women 2020 – Best companies for women to work for. The meeting will be on March 25th, at 13:30 pm, via Zoom, exclusively for employees.
Another event planned to celebrate Women's Month is a discussion among Mercado Eletrônico employees, which will be moderated by professionals from different areas, with the aim of reinforcing the plurality of views and perspectives. Special guests include: Klyvian Flores, Marketing Director; Mirela Nascimento, Support Technician; and Thamiris Ferreira, Product Analyst.
“Women’s Day is a date when we should remember the importance of the fight for gender equality in all sectors, including technology, as well as celebrate all the achievements of women in recent times. That’s why the Ministry of Education decided to bring together all these women to share their life experiences and challenges,” says Klyvian Flores.
Throughout the month of March, collaborators will also receive recommendations for books, series and films that address issues related to the female universe and the empowerment of women in society as a whole, thinking mainly about their fundamental contribution to a better world for all of us.
It is worth remembering that International Women's Day celebrates the social, political and economic achievements of women over the years, and that the fight for equality and respect continues daily.
