Mercado Eletrônico is present at the 19th Supply Chain Marathon: See what happened in this edition!

On April 10th and 11th, in São Paulo, the 19th Supply Chain Marathon 2023 took place, one of the largest Logistics, Purchasing and Supply Chain events in Latin America. Held by Live University, the event brought together leading names in the sector to discuss the main trends and challenges faced in day-to-day purchasing.  

Concurrent Content Tracks  

The 19th Edition featured 4 simultaneous tracks: Logistics of Transportation & Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Digital Supply Chain & Procurement. There were more than 20 hours of content with current and relevant market topics.  

Mercado Eletrônico was present at this important event, with the presentation of two cases from clients Accor Hotels and GWM Brasil, as well as a stand with experts to present our B2B purchasing management solutions. In this post, you will learn about the highlights of the two days of the event. 

 Accor Hotels Case: “The evolution of shopping in hospitality”  

On 10/04, Pedro Cardoso, vice president of purchasing at Accor, gave a talk entitled “The evolution of purchasing in hospitality”. During the presentation, Pedro discussed how the evolution of purchasing in hospitality has been marked by the implementation of digital technologies and solutions, such as Astore, the Accor Group’s corporate purchasing platform operated in partnership with Mercado Eletrônico, which offers a vast purchasing catalog service.  

Pedro also highlighted how platforms like Astore allow for more efficient, transparent and cost-effective management of the purchasing process. He also spoke about the search for suppliers that offer quality products and services at competitive prices, and the growing concern about sustainability and environmental impact in purchasing practices.  

GWM Brazil Case: “The challenges of structuring the supply chain at GWM”  

On 11/04, Ewerton Takata, head of procurement at GWM Brazil, presented the lecture “The challenges of structuring the supply chain at GWM, an AutoTech made by Brazilians for Brazilians that will manufacture hybrid and electric vehicles in Brazil”.  

During the presentation, Ewerton addressed the main challenges of implementing a supply chain from scratch and how digitalization in GWM Brasil's purchasing management, through solutions e-Procurement e e-Sourcing of the Electronic Market, are being decisive in automating their processes and achieving success in their operations in Brazil
