On June 18th and 19th, Mercado Eletrônico participated in the 3rd edition of the Compras Summit, held by Ciclo Academy.
For the event programming, we invited our client Julio Abraham, Director of Purchasing, Asset and Contract Management at Vibra Energia.
With the theme “Maximizing value in purchasing and supplier management”, Abrahão presented the main achievements with the digital transformation of purchasing processes.
In the lecture, the director highlighted that the transformation of Vibra Energia's purchasing area was based on three fundamental pillars: people, processes and innovation.
Before the changes, the sector's processes were bureaucratic and inefficient. Furthermore, there was no control over the hiring of suppliers.
Starting in 2019, the company began a digital transformation project, with the aim of optimizing processes, developing strategic partnerships with suppliers and increasing savings.
In the modernization process, the solutions e-Procument e SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) of ME were essential to change the Vibra Energia scenario.
One of the important results obtained was the reduction of the average hiring time from 180 days to just 21 days, in addition to the elimination of manual processes and communication via email.
“We are increasingly committed to expanding the participation of qualified suppliers and to continuously improving partner management. We have implemented a recognition program that will further strengthen relationships and innovation,” said Júlio Abrahão, Director of Purchasing, Asset Management and Contracts at Vibra Energia.
The increase in savings was another major highlight with the digitalization of processes: 20% in one year.
With the use of these tools, Vibra Energia began to formally qualify suppliers. Through continuous evaluation, only qualified partners can participate in quotations.
With the digitalization of purchases, Vibra Energia's processes were redefined and are now more agile and efficient.
Below, check out the main benefits achieved with the digitalization of purchases and the ME partnership:
- Implementation of ME's e-Procument and SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) solutions, integrating different systems to optimize flows and increase efficiency.
- Reduction in the average time to contract suppliers: from 180 days to 21 days.
- Adoption of electronic signature and automation of control and follow-up processes, eliminating manual records and communication via email.
- Total spend increased to $1,2 billion in 2023, with 12.000 purchase requisitions.
- Continuous monitoring and evaluation of supplier performance.
- Continuous evaluation of supplier performance, including legal, economic, ESG criteria and integrity.
“In the digital transformation journey, training our buyers was a fundamental step, and by 2025, our goal is to achieve state-of-the-art purchasing management, with systems integration, qualified suppliers and continuous improvement of our processes”, added Júlio Abrahão, Director of Purchasing, Asset and Contract Management at Vibra Energia.
